Alexandria Makes "Best Places to Do Business" List
This year Inc. Magazine studied 393 population centers across the nation, identifying job creation and other signs of business vitality to ultimately rank the Best Places to Do Business. The annual list is broken down into small, mid and large categories; Alexandria is grouped with Washington and Arlington in the large category (employment base of 450,000+). The DC-Arlington-Alexandria combination appears on the list in the #8 position. According to Inc.: "No surprise that an expanding federal government is the main economic force here, providing jobs at its many agencies and at the private companies that do business with them.
