AEDP Executive “Friend of Small Business"
AEDP Executive Named “Friend of Small Business” by Virginia Asset Financing Corporation (Alexandria, VA) — At a ceremony held in the scenic Meadowlark Gardens, the Virginia Asset Financing Corporation awarded Paula Riley, the Executive Director of the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, Inc. (AEDP) the “Friend of Small Business” award at its 20th anniversary celebration. Alexandria Mayor Kerry J. Donley, who serves both on the board of directors with Virginia Asset Financing Corporation, and as the chairman of the board of AEDP, presented AEDP with the award, describing the partnership’s commitment to small business issues in the City of Alexandria. “In a City composed almost entirely of smaller businesses, AEDP’s demonstrated dedication is proven by its successful Business Outreach Program, tireless promotion of the Economic Injury Disaster Loan after September 11th, and business retention and support work, often utilizing Virginia Asset Financing Corporation,” said Donley. Virginia Asset Financing Corporation is a not-for-profit whose mission is to promote economic development in Virginia’s communities by assisting growing small businesses with 504 loans that ensure a successful expansion. The Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, Inc. is a public/private partnership that plans, directs, manages and implements efforts to attract, expand, and retain business operations in the City of Alexandria.
