Alexandria Ranks top in 2001 Q-32 City Rankings
(Alexandria, VA) -- Business Development Outlook's (BDO) 2001 Q-32 City Awards for Best Cities for Quality of Life ranks the City of Alexandria as number fifteen overall in the country. The City also ranked 2nd in Top 50 Cities for Culture and Entertainment and ranked 4th for Best Educated City. This nationwide evaluation is undertaken by the World Economic Development Alliance, publishers of Business Development Outlook, to help expanding or relocating businesses choose the area that's best for them and their employees. The City and State rankings were calculated for cities with populations of 100,000 or more. The Dallas-based business publication focuses on economic development and developed the rankings using demographic software. The AEDP is a public/private partnership, which plans, directs, manages and implements efforts to attract, expand and retain business operations in the City of Alexandria. AEDP has worked since 1981 as a facilitator to establish Alexandria as a nationally recognized community and business center.
